Math
- Students took a winter benchmark assessment on MobyMax. Based on their results, I have assigned lessons that they can work on to review or strength certain grade level skills. This is a great resource for daily math practice!
- Other website sources: Prodigy, Sumdog, KhanAcademy, Math Playground, Xtramath
Science
- STEMscopes.com is our curriculum website. There are a lot of resources that have already been shared with students, as well as games and activities they can play. I have also posted a few activities from the site on Google Classroom.
- Tynker and Scratch Jr. are great apps that we have used in class to practice coding.

Students were in the middle of their US Government Unit. In order to continue learning about this important subject, please ask your child to use any or all of the following resources:
1. https://www.ducksters.com/history/us_government.php
2. https://www.usa.gov/government-job-videos
3. https://kids-clerk.house.gov/grade-school/lesson.html?intID=1
Students could also expand on their knowledge of both the Revolutionary War and the class novel, My Brother Sam is Dead. Here are some extension activities your child could do:
1. Create Redding, CT, the town Sam and Tim Meeker lived in. Students could use Minecraft or paper and markers to create the town.
2. Find a recipe for Hardtack. This is what Sam Meeket and many other soldiers ate during the war. Make the recipe and write about what it tastes like.
3. Research Verplanck Point, NY, the town Tim and Father visited. Create a fact sheet or poster about the town.
Writing
Students were at the tale end of our Poetry Unit. Have your child work on any or all of the following:
1. Write a poem about family, school, friends, camping, skiing, sports, etc....ANYTHING!
2. Read poetry. If you don't have any poetry books, there is plenty online or use the app Libby.
Students could also work on MCAS Prep by writing one or both of the following:
1. Write an alternative ending to My Brother Sam is Dead.
2. Write about what happened to Father in My Brother Sam is Dead. Write from Father's perspective.
